The story of

Fatsia Japonica, also known as Aralia, originates from Japan and is later cultivated in Italy and Israel. In recent years, Aralia has primarily been sourced from Central America, with Costa Rica and Guatemala being key countries. Green Quality imports products weekly and supplies them year-round.

Where does Aralia grow?

Aralia grows under shade cloth, or saran in English, to protect the leaves from the sun. It is renewed every 5 years, while the plants continue to grow. After harvest, the Aralia is washed in the barn and sorted into different lengths ranging from 20 to 80 cm

Handplant

In the Netherlands, Aralia is also called finger plant or hand plant because of the resemblance of the leaf shape to a hand.
